This 12V DC power supply unit (PSU) comes with the Powerpole connector that is plugged into the back of the TheSky Fusion telescope control unit. It will supply power to the integrated computer, as well as a maximum of 8 peripheral devices that are plugged into TheSky Fusion's output power ports. Please see below for equipment power requirements.
Equipment that Requires 12V DC
- Mounts (Paramount mounts require 48V DC and CANNOT be powered from one of TheSky Fusion's power output ports)
- Astro-Cameras (CCD or CMOS)
- Rotators
- Focusers
- Filter Wheels
- Dew Heaters
Equipment that Requires 8V DC
- DSLR Cameras - always check with the manufacturers' specifications to ensure you are supplying the proper voltage
Equipment that Requires 5V DC
There are two PSU models available from Software Bisque. 12V DC 11.5A has a maximum power output of 138W. 12V DC 21A has a maximum power output of 252W.
In order to determine which model PSU will be best suited to power your imaging equipment, please refer to the manufacturer's specifications for the maximum output wattage required for EACH component that will be powered by TheSky Fusion. You can use the following equation to determine the total wattage required by your equipment:
Total Power (WATTS) = Voltage x Amperage
If the total maximum wattage of your equipment exceeds 138W max, and is less than 252W max, this 21A model PSU is sufficient.
